The Birds & the Bears

One the McKay's favorite times of the year is approaching in about a week...baseball season! This is really the only sport that Will and I follow, and it is usually a pretty tense season in our house. With me being a Cardinals fan and Will as a Cubs', there is friendly competition...usually friendly! But I'm hoping I'll see more of this confused look on his face in the coming 2010 season. Go Cards!

More Than a Catchy Tune

I was in the car with a friend and just happened upon the catchy tunes of Jimmy Needham. The more intently that I listened, the more I realized that Jimmy is not only a talented singer and musician, but he uses this talent to display Christ's love and truth across radio waves, ipods, and concert halls. I wanted to know more, so I clicked over to his website to see what he is about. He expressed, "I discovered that zeal and passion for God is a good thing, but if you don't love people, it doesn't count for much." He describes his song "The Author" as, "this is the ultimate love story. You can't plan the end and not plan the means. I think there is something beautiful and loving about knowing that Christ was not a backup plan. He was the plan all along."

Here is a sweet song that Jimmy wrote for his wife:

Liberty of London

I had heard the rumors, & as I was grocery shopping at my local Target there it was...by far the cutest line that Target has carried yet - Liberty of London. Just in time for spring! Bikes, watering cans, tea pots, stationery... I haven't picked anything up because I'm too indecisive & can't pick my fav pattern yet...

So, what is your fav pattern? Head here to view these florals...

Seeking His Kingdom

As Spring approaches (just 5 more days!) and the lilies and buttercups in my flowerbeds begin to bloom, I'm reminded of Matthew 6...I'm so grateful for God's Word and His promises!

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Girl Scout Ice Cream

Yes, its so good it is worth a post. If you love Girl Scout cookies, then you will definitely like Edy's ice cream that has these sweet bits of cookie goodness mixed within. A friend of mine introduced me to the Thin Mint kind last year, and I've been on the look-out ever since. There are 3 kinds - Thin Mint, Samoas, and Tagalongs, and they are only available this season. I spotted them at WalMart yesterday. Yum.

Closet Update

Our master closet has been the same plain beige since we moved in 5 years ago. It also has a bare wall that does not have shelving or any functionality. I had an extra mirror that I had not been using anywhere, some necklaces that needed organizing, and blue paint. So I had an idea of putting these together and thought the master closet was a good place for it.

Before:

After: I chose my fav color blue, measured a rectangle, hung the mirror, and placed these really cute white hooks from I found from an antique store to hold my necklaces.

The blue square matches perfectly with our bathroom towells.
